Gary Danko

A quick mini post byte. I took my girlfriend to Gary Danko for her birthday along with a surprise 2005 cab from Silver Oak Cellars. My expectations going in were rather high because of all the wonderful reviews and comments I've received from friends and family. And to my delight, I was completely overwhelmed by the flavors, textures, and foods I encountered. You can read a much more extensive posting about our meal over at Taste Tests.

Incredible Lobster Risotto. Melts in your mouth. I even ate the mushrooms and I hate mushrooms

Seared Foie Gras

Seared Sea Scallops

Braised Lamb Shoulder

Herb Crusted Loin

Pork Tenderloin and Pork Belly (This is absolutely to die for). I could have eaten 3 dishes of just the pork belly.

I can't think of more decadent and rich dessert that this chocolate souffle. Fabulous and Fluffy to the very last bite.

Creme Brulee Trio

If you're coming to SF and you have time to only eat at one restaurant, I would highly recommend Gary Danko hands down. Note that it recommend you call in advance for a reservation (up to 2 months ahead).

SF Street Food

Thanks to Foodbuzz, I was able to head out early to the 2nd Annual SF Street Food Festival and have an early taste of the foods being prepared. The festival is organized by La Cocina, a non profit organization in the mission district of San Francisco that provides low-income food entrepreneurs advice, support, and space to build out sustaining businesses.

Proscuitto Wrapped Figs (Chez Papa Resto)

Taco de Alhambre (El Huarache Loco)

Roli Roti! Rotisseur Thomas Odermatt at the helm!

Three Twins Ice Cream - Lemon Cookie
(This flavor is fantastic. It's like eating a light lemon ice cream with shortbread cookies)

Mexican Chocolate Creme Brulee - The Creme Brulee Cart

Crushed up pork skin. yum! - Roli Roti

Delicious! Pork Porchetta Sandwich. Finger licking good. - Roli Roti
